The Arup Research Review is a bi-annual publication where we share our most interesting engineering and design research from the past few months. From exploring mycelium as a low-carbon building material to combining qualitative and quantitative data to get a better understanding of how people move around cities, these projects vary in scale, stage and application.
Some have led to the creation of new products, services and processes. Others are simply our first steps toward validating a hunch or hypothesis. Each issue contains a selection from the 80 or so projects in our annual portfolio.
We work with industry partners, governments, universities, startups and community organisations. We do this through research partnerships, and as consultants and facilitators for foresight, research, storytelling and technical writing workshops.
